V.O..RAIMUND KROB AND ROSS WEBSTER ARE BOTH SCUBA DIVING ENTHUSIASTS.

Tape 1, 14:25 to 14:37

Three fifths of the earth is covered in water and not a lot of people realize a world that exists under the water and scuba divers are fortunate to be a part of that world

 B-Roll: Tape 1, 00:18:15 & 00:18:44 & 00:19:30

V.O… BOTH MEN ARE GETTING READY TO EXPLORE THE ALEXANDRIA.  A CARGO SHIP THAT SUNK ON A STORMY AUGUST IN 1915, IN LAKE ONTARIO, IN SCARBOROUGH.

Tape 1, 00:11:05 to 00:11:37 do an L-cut to size down bite.

The engines although as big as my boat is today they only generated about 53 horse power to turn the two wheels.  The wind was so strong that is was stronger than the engines. And even though the captain was headed straight into the wind and had given the go ahead to jettison all kinds of cargo, the wind was still too strong and pushed the boat into shore -- stern first and that’s how she grounded.

B-Roll of cliffs: Tape1, 00:18:10 & 00:18:27 &

ACCORDING TO ONE NEWSPAPER REPORT AT THE TIME, THE LOCALS WHO LIVED JUST ABOVE THESE CLIFFS, LAID ROPES, CLIMBED DOWN AND BRAVED THE TREACHEROUS WATERS TO RESCUE THE CREW.

Tape 1 00:1137:37 to 00:11:50

There were 22 crew members on board at the time. And all of them made it safely to shore and some of the locals were praised as being heroes of the day.

B-roll: 00:20:45

IT WAS WEBSTER WHO DISCOVERED THE ALEXANDRIA ONE DAY WHILE BOATING. HE PARTNERED WITH KROB AND BOTH MEN HAVE BEEN DIVING TO THE SHIP FOR THE PAST FEW MONTHS.

TAPE 1, 00:29:27 to 00:29:40

This is the only wreck that is in Scarborough and we would like to become stewards of the wreck so future generations can enjoy what we enjoy.

B-Roll: Tape 1, 00:24:00…(show clips around this time code with both men in frame)

V.O…KROB AND WEBSTER ARE BOTH MEMBERS OF THE SCARBOROUGH UNDERWATER CLUB.  A RECREATIONAL ORGANIZATION THAT PROMOTES ADVENTURE, AND OFFERS CLASSES IN THE WORLD OF SCUBA DIVING.  EVEN THOUGH THEY EXPLORE OTHER SUNKEN SHIPS, THE ALEXANDRIA IS THEIR FIRST ARCHAEOLOGICAL SURVEY.

Tape1, 00:14:53  to 00:15:08 and (buttclip) 00:17:27 to 00:17:33

B-Roll over butt clip: 00:10:46

What we wanna be able to do is construct an architectural diagram of what’s left of The shipwreck for historical purposes and we also wanna be able to catalogue and photograph the artefacts on site//(butt clip)// everything of value was stripped, so we don’t know what we’ll find.

Tape1,(bridge: Open up sound and video: 00:29:13 to 00:29:40 (Charles with breathing mask)

Let’s see what the air taste like…Luke turn to the dark side….

00:29:52 to 00:30:06

This is what you do to keep you’re glasses from fogging, you spit in it. Spread it around real good and give a rinse.  When you’re down in the water your windshield won’t fog up.

B-Roll includes audio with sound up: 00:38:41 & 00:39:45 & 00:41:44

V..0 .. HERE THEY GO…MAN OVERBOARD

STAND UP: 01:01:47

Even though winter’s coming, Krob and Webster will continue to dive for the Alexandria. Even in cold weather they’re not afraid to get their feet more than a little wet…Charles Mitchell reporting for Rogers Television..
