Charles Mitchell
comes from a background in the arts and shifted into journalism after graduating from the University of Toronto. He received his graduate degree from Columbia University in New York City.

Charles has worked for news programming at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), as a co-producer/ contributing host at Rogers Television in Toronto and was a careers writer for the Toronto Star Newspaper.  He has also written for other major newspapers such as the National Post.

Currently a lecturer at the American University of Kuwait, as well as a documentary maker and media & PR consultant based in the Middle East, he is also a member of the International Association of Media and Communication Research (IAMCR) and the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ). 

Charles has presented academic research papers and participated in journalism seminars in Geneva, Switzerland, Braga, Portugal and Paris, France.  He has traveled to more than 35 countries, including retracing the legendary Che Guevara Motorcycle Diaries trail across Latin America.  Additionally, his journeys have comprised stops at five of the Seven Wonders of the World.

Aside from Kuwait City, Charles divides his time among Dubai, New York and Miami.

Professor Mitchell is the American University of Kuwait 2009 award winner for Innovative Lecturer of the Year.
